TELLAS Mural
We are pleased to present the new look of our wine boxes. We have continued to invest in contemporary art, with a new work of public art that now accompanies the mural that was created in 2018 by the artist Ozmo. On the west side of the main building, which looks out onto the vineyards with the Tyrrhenian Sea in the background, the renowned Sardinian artist Tellas (tellas.org) has created a new mural that expresses the landscape of Bolgheri through his eyes. It’s impressively large, spanning 16 meters in length and four in height. It looks out on the Casanuova vineyard. This is how Fabio Schirru, aka Tellas, sees and interprets Bolgheri: “…. Bolgheri has a western landscape, with colors that range from the yellow of the fields to the intense green of the vineyards. The sky is always changing as the clouds move with the sea breeze. This horizontal landscape is cut and contrasted by the verticality of the cypress trees – an important and almost sculpturesque element that is a distinguishing characteristic of this area. The outer wall of Le Macchiole, like the pages in a diary, is the perfect tableau on which to bring together and describe these sensations.” What you see on the inside of our new boxes is a snapshot from Tellas’ mural. We look forward to welcoming you to the winery, where you can see the real thing.
